Main responsibilities of the Panchayat Health-Education Standing Committee
Oversee public health activities, disease prevention programmes, and sanitation activities in the Panchayat.
Evaluate the functioning of health institutions such as primary health centres and sub-centres and provide suggestions for improvement.
Examine matters related to public health such as drinking water, sanitation, and waste management.
Coordinate communicable disease control, vaccination, and health awareness programmes.
Oversee the functioning of pre-primary, primary, and upper primary educational institutions in the Panchayat.
Provide suggestions for improving the quality of education and enhancing students' learning facilities.
Evaluate matters related to school infrastructure development, sanitation, and safety.
Lead literacy activities, continuing education programmes, and educational promotion schemes.
Monitor students' health, nutrition, and school health programmes.
Evaluate the implementation and progress of government schemes related to the health and education sectors.
Perform other health and education-related responsibilities assigned by the Panchayat Committee.
