Operation Toofaan 2.0
To completely prevent the spread and use of narcotic substances in the state, the Kerala Police and the Local Self-Government Department are jointly implementing Operation Thoofan 2.0 with extensive public participation. Beyond mere law enforcement measures, the objective of the project is to expand anti-drug activities to every ward and household by coordinating the law enforcement authority of the police with the grassroots base of the Local Self-Government Department. As part of ensuring extensive publicity for preventive activities aimed at preventing the spread of drugs across the state and strong continuous monitoring at the local level, Veliyannoor Grama Panchayat and Ramapuram Police jointly took an anti-drug pledge and hoisted the Thoofan flag at 11.30 AM on 28.09.2026, and selected Thoofan Warriors for all wards of Veliyannoor Grama Panchayat, including elected representatives, Kudumbashree workers, Haritha Karma Sena members, ASHA workers, voluntary organization workers , and students. Hon. Veliyannoor Grama Panchayat President Smt. Jini Chacko requested that everyone's participation and active involvement be ensured.
