Veliyannoor Grama Panchayat is a small area located in Uzhavoor Block Panchayat in Kottayam district. Bounded by Purappuzha - Ramapuram Grama Panchayats to the east, Elanji – Uzhavoor Grama Panchayats to the west, Ramapuram – Uzhavoor Grama Panchayats to the south, and Koothattukulam – Palakkuzha Grama Panchayats to the north, Veliyannoor Panchayat covers an area of 19.49 sq. km and is divided into 13 wards. Veliyannoor Grama Panchayat comprises the revenue villages of Veliyannoor, Monippilly, and Uzhavoor. A total of 11195 people reside here, including 5573 men and 5622 women. There are 132 men and 142 women belonging to the Scheduled Caste category, and 24 men and 8 women belonging to the Scheduled Tribe category living here.
